If you have ES File Explorer File Manager installed on your android device you might need to uninstall it for this to work since it's built in player opens the streams by default. I've experimented with it to weed out some potential conflicts.

You can download the cable or network apps like mention above(requires login to their cable account) but simply cut out the middleman(casting to console). You also need your preferred video player and the Ace Media Player linked above to watch it on the Android box. You can find sketchy apps on the playstore(unknown developer), found this one, these have a list of acestream links of different channels. Use the app linked above and your preferred video player(I prefer VLC) to watch it on the android box. I recommend finding a decent place to find Acestream links because they change constantly.
